Experience & Qualifications

General Experience

I have been in corporate sales for most of my working life, but now wish to build a new career as an actor. I started looking into the industry in Jan 2011 although I had had some limited experience in the past which had given me a taster.
Since May 2010 I have been working as a freelance photographer, but from the beginning of the year I have been focused on finding opportunities that would help build experience and ad value to my CV. This has resulted in some interesting projects and some positive feed back on my skills and ability. I have been told I do have some talent, real potential and a natural ability. I am now therefore totally focussed and driven on developing my career as an actor.
March 2011: My first role in a feature length film. I cannot give too much detail at this stage, but it is a low budget movie to be put forward for a few film festivals. This was a psychological thriller where I have a supporting role. My character was the sports writer in the office of a newspaper. I was fearless and did not put up with trouble makers and the office bully, but totally under the thumb of my wife. I had 2 key scenes where I lose my temper with 2 colleagues, but then put the office bully in his place by protecting a colleague and an outside scene where I get attached outside the office and left for dead.
Feb 2011: History channel production by Title Role Productions Ltd. The production in a series of documentaries called “Britain’s Biggest Heist’s”. Where they re-enact some of the biggest bank robberies in British History. I played the assistant banker for the re-enactment of the 1975 robbery of the Bank of America.
March 2011: I was asked back for another “Britain’s biggest Heist’s” This time playing The prosecutor in the court room seams for the re-enactment of the 1971 Baker Street robbery.
Jan 2011: Student video- played a menacing mugger
Jan2011: 1 day Promotion for HSBC opening Saturday- played a traditional posh banker with bowler, tash, round specs etc. Based on the success of my 1st time I was asked back for another day in Feb 2011.
Nov 2010 & Jan 2011: Party venues and special events: acted as official photographer in character as a 1950’s New York reporter, Fedora, Trench coat and New York accent. This help create a light hearted atmosphere and made people more at ease and relaxed at having their pictures taken. The photography became part of the entertainment, rather than someone in-your-face clicking away.
May 2010 to date: Member of CHAPS amateur dramatics society in North Wales. Have done Christmas panto, a One Act production and will be performing a summer comedy.
Prior to this I was an extra in the opening sequence of “Die another Day” The scene where James bond is exchanged on the misty bridge at the North Korean border and the opening sequence of Sahara, the scene set in the American civil war around the Iron Ship, lots of explosions etc.
I also have over 20 years’ experience in the work place and gained a variety of skills that could help me develop character roles and ad realism to part.
