DIETS IVth Conference (December 2010)
Volunteered to help with the organising and planning of the IVth DIETS Conference held in Amsterdam. DIETS is an acronym for Dietitians Improving the Education and Training Standards for dietitians across Europe. (I am also involved in planning the 2011 conference in Barcelona, having gained sponsorship from the European Federation of the Association of Dietitians to run a student meeting alongside the conference).

Behaviour Change Training (February 2011)
A days training run by Wiltshire NHS. Learning new skills within a small group, practicing role plays and gaining insight from each other.

Later this year .. Camp Discovery (August 2011)
Providing diabetes management education to young children at an American Diabetes Association summer residential camp

Relevant Skills

From my many clinical placements and work experience as a dietitian I am used to working with all sorts of people, ranging from unwell people in hospital to the general public
I will often have to do a presentation or cooking demonstration to large groups of people, young and old from all walks of life, so believe I have very good communication and presentation skills

I also have experience from part time jobs in waitressing, catering and bar work
I have also worked as a nutrition journalist for the university magazine, as well as being a student ambassador and setting up the new University of Plymouth Food Society which brings people together through their love of food and cooking

Interests & Hobbies

Travelling, meeting new people, free diving, music and cooking
