I am a recently retired elite international athlete, now pursuing a career in presenting and journalism. Whilst representing England all over the world, I attained a master’s Degree in journalism and gained a variety of experience from major broadcasting companies at major sporting events to university and independent companies requiring presenters and motivational speakers.

- The ConverHERsation, behind the scene panel interviews with women from the creative industries.

Athlete Mentor & Motivational Speaker for Dame Kelly Holmes Trust: 2017 - Present
- Since joining the Trust, I have assisted on a number of programmes, as well as organising and delivering programmes myself within schools and community support organisations. I have also delivered motivational talks to young people and adults.

Journalist for Badminton England / Fitbit / Harrod UK / Coventry Observer: 2014-16
- Writing various features and blogs. Developing stories and writing in different styles for varying companies with different audiences and working to a deadline.

Journalist & Presenter at London 2012 Olympic Games: 27th July – 6th August 2012
- Post-match interviewer for Badminton World Federation’s YouTube channel. I was also interviewed live on national television and radio stations, providing me with additional understanding of how the media work in different environments and in reaction to live events.

Badminton Pundit for Sky Sports: 2015-16
- Selected from numerous players to act as the only female pundit on the panel. I explained and talked about badminton and the players competing, as well as describing a match for viewers as they watched replays.

Sports Journalism Intern at Leeds Metropolitan University’s Athletic Union: 2012-13
- Co presenter of 2012 BUCS Big Wednesday and Match of The Week; a weekly university sports segment which sparked an interest in broadcast media.
- I gained skills in presenting and interviewing for the University’s YouTube channel, marketing and developing their social media sites, as well as helping in the delivery of sports events

General Experience

As well as my experience in front of the camera as an athlete and journalist, I have created and edited video's for my Youtube page.
At the start of 2018 I launched my own website and blog called the Wright With You Project which aims to empower women and help them grow in confidence. I want to use my experiences as an elite athlete to help others and create a community of support and I have now started a YouTube channel.
Since moving to London, I have been attending networking events to help increase my knowledge within the creative industries and gain more work experience.

I love to shop and stay up to date with the latest fashion trends. I enjoy reading and listening to podcasts, watching films and exploring new places, whether that be in the UK or internationally. I also love to eat out and meet new people from all walks of life.

Miscellaneous Information

From 12 years old I represented England and was part of the England junior squad until the age of 19. In 2013 I became number one in England for women’s singles and joined the England senior squad and Team GB.
I have won two international titles and represented England almost 30 times, winning European Team Silver and Bronze medals.
Ranking number one in England and the highest world ranked player for four consecutive years, I reached a ranking of 50 in the world.
In 2016, I became Women’s Singles English National Champion and in 2017 competed in both my third World Championships and third European championships; reaching the quarter finals by beating a player ranked 20 in the world and making it the best European Championship result by an English women’s singles player since 2008.
