Employment History & Experience
Ive done some amature plays (unpaid)
My love of acting started from the age of eight when I studied with my local drama group at the ‘Barbican theatre’ and the experience left me with a hunger for more acting and performances, Continuing at the barbican theatre, doing many performances including ‘Aladdin’ and some narration of short stories. I played an undertaker who told a story about a body that was not actually dead.
I also studied with the TR2 theatre company doing many courses from art to acting. When i did my work shops here I did a work shop on dance as well so i have some jive and modern experience in dance. I enjoyed doing a piece about our local history in prince rock and cattedown and played many characters in this. We performed this piece in the form of a giant monopoly board where you had to roll the dice and land on a square to hear a story. I can in turn play ages that surpass my own and really get in to the character inhabiting their emotions. When cast as a role I will throw my all into it and learn lines and ways to perform that character fast, i am also open to any changes that the director is willing to bring on.
I took a break from acting but when I joined secondary school my passion blossomed even further. I auditioned and got a cast in the school play ‘Hamlet’ as ‘Rosen guild’ which they change to ‘Rose’ as I am a female. I also performed a scene from ‘Oklahoma’ at the Plymouth pavilions. I ended up taking drama for a GCSE but I only got D. during my drama GCSE I acted in a performance called ‘a funny thing happened on the way to the forum’ and was cast as the part of Erronia who was a mad old woman who was searching for her children. I was part of the school choir and performed at spring and autumn festivals. My voice has developed well and i have performed solos at these festivals with the start of ‘do Rae me’ from the sound of music and a whole solo of the ‘friends theme’. Thi9s helped my voice to grow before I entered college.
All of this experience urged me to go on and do the BTEC National performing arts course at my local college, city college Plymouth. Where I have studied to: stay in character more and exploring different roles. I have enjoyed my time here but I’m ready for the future and any thing you may hand me.
