Details:

Are you a versatile and creative musician looking for a new career in teaching and performing? We are currently seeking a talented and inspiring musician to train as one of our unique Choir Leaders to take over existing choirs in Cambridge, St Neots & Huntingdon. Exciting and life-affirming, We are looking for new talent to join the existing team to lead and inspire communities across the UK. We were the first contemporary choir in the UK offering a non-audition, inclusive amateur singing experience. Now, with 25000 members and a team of 100 dedicated individuals, it has celebrated 10 years of life-changing experiences, winning numerous awards for its standards of excellence and dedication to communities and charities country-wide.

Applicants should have very competent piano and vocal skills and a charismatic and energetic personality. There is no need to have led choirs before but commitment and self-motivation is paramount. The role is a fulfilling one, with the chance to change people's lives through our music, performance and teaching.

The ability to work enthusiastically as a team player is key (no divas please!) Successful applicants will join the current team of more than 60 friendly, supportive and outgoing musicians who are already enjoying their career with the UK's favourite contemporary choir. Opportunities to perform on stage and on TV come with the job. You would work a 4 day week leading choirs learning popular songs with 1 additional regular training day per month and work 30-35 weeks per year with our long holidays. Arrangements and many other resources and support are provided. Your choirs would mostly take place on weekday evenings and you would be leading the choir members (who will become like an extended family to you) to concerts locally and nationally.

You will need a driving licence, your own car, a keyboard and PA system.

If you can't see past your winter schedule or panto season do apply now as training will take place after these commitments with the aim of leading your choirs from this April. We will also contribute towards your travel expenses for the interview.

Here is a quote about the role from one of our choir leaders - "Being a Rock Choir Leader means that nearly every weekday night, I get to spend quality time with 50 to 100 of my closest friends." Maxine Cherrie (Cheshire and Lancashire Rock Choir Leader)
