Details:

We have an opportunity for a charismatic and talented Scotland-based professional musician to join our team to run choirs in or near Hamilton & East Kilbride. This a rewarding position musically. We were the first contemporary choir in the UK and remain the most popular and high-profile. We have won three Guinness World Records, achieved two top-twenty albums, and been the subject of a three-part ITV1 documentary The Choir That Rocks.

Applicants should have very competent piano and vocal skills and a charismatic and energetic personality. There is no need to have led choirs before but commitment and self-motivation is paramount. The role is a fulfilling one, with the chance to change people's lives through our music, performance and teaching.

Our Leaders teach 3 or 4 evenings a week during term time and have long summer holidays. You would lead your choir members to concerts on a local and national basis. We have a supportive and friendly HQ team who provide you with all the training, resources and arrangements you need to lead your choirs to the best of your ability and you would also train once a month with your peers. There is also the opportunity to be part of recording experiences, and TV and radio appearances!

You also have the chance for career development in specialist areas once you are settled as a choir leader.

Love using Sibelius? - We offer the chance to score!
Love the recording process? - We offer the chance to produce tracks!
Love arranging? - 1,000's will learn and sing your arrangements!
Love language? - Work on copy with us.
Like to share your skills? - You can train new choir leaders.
Got a special craft like Estill? - Produce workshops for your peers.
Want to do corporate days? - Past events in Ibiza and Germany!
Got a youtuber itch? - Run our online choirs.
Love running a team? - Become a regional manager.
Love producing shows? - Could you do Proms in the Park?

You will need a car, a keyboard and PA system.

If you would like to join our expanding team of successful Musicians, please complete our online job application form on our careers site. Do apply now even if your end of year exam timetable or summer schedule are foremost in your mind currently so you are able to jump from those commitments straight into your choirs. If your application is successful and you are invited to interview in Farnham or Birmingham, we will contribute to your travel expenses.

Here is a quote about the role from one of our choir leaders - "I started working with Rock Choir in 2007 and I am so glad that I did. I spend my week teaching amazing communities how to sing in harmony in a really fabulous and safe environment. My favourite moment of every session is watching a choir sing through a section of a song in harmony, with full confidence and watch their faces when they hear how amazing they sound! I have been with Rock Choir for 16 years and I am looking forward to what the future brings." Sam Smith (Surrey Rock Choir Leader)
