Details:

Are you a versatile and creative musician looking for a new career in teaching and performing? We are currently seeking a talented and inspiring musician to train as one of our unique Choir Leaders to run choirs in or near Dorchester & Bridport. Exciting and life-affirming, We are looking for new talent to join the existing team to lead and inspire communities across the UK. We were the first contemporary choir in the UK offering a non-audition, inclusive amateur singing experience. Now, with 25000 members and a team of 100 dedicated individuals, it has celebrated 17 years of life-changing experiences, winning numerous awards for its standards of excellence and dedication to communities and charities country-wide.

As a Rock Choir Leader, you should possess fantastic piano and vocal skills with the ability to teach at the same time. You will be organised, reliable, charismatic, energetic and able to work both alone and as part of our world leading musical team. Full training is provided so you can apply even if you have not run a choir before.

Our Leaders teach 3 or 4 evenings a week during term time and have long summer holidays. You would lead your choir members to concerts on a local and national basis. We have a supportive and friendly HQ team who provide you with all the training, resources and arrangements you need to lead your choirs to the best of your ability and you would also train once a month with your peers. There is also the opportunity to be part of recording experiences, and TV and radio appearances!

You also have the chance for career development in specialist areas once you are settled as a choir leader.

Love the recording process? - We offer the chance to produce tracks!
Love arranging? - 1,000's will learn and sing your arrangements!
Love language? - Work on copy with us.
Like to share your skills? - You can train new choir leaders.
Got a special craft like Estill? - Produce workshops for your peers.
Want to do corporate days? - Past events in Ibiza and Germany!
Got a youtuber itch? - Run our online choirs.
Love running a team? - Become a regional manager.
Love producing shows? - Could you do Proms in the Park?

Own car and portable piano and PA are essential.

If you can't see past your summer schedule or your end of year exams do apply now as training will take place after these commitments with the aim of leading your choirs from this September. We will also contribute towards your travel expenses for the interview.

Here is a quote about the role from one of our choir leaders - "I started working with Rock Choir in 2007 and I am so glad that I did. I spend my week teaching amazing communities how to sing in harmony in a really fabulous and safe environment. My favourite moment of every session is watching a choir sing through a section of a song in harmony, with full confidence and watch their faces when they hear how amazing they sound! I have been with Rock Choir for 16 years and I am looking forward to what the future brings." Sam Smith (Surrey Rock Choir Leader)
