Details:

Following the head of the Crown Prosecution Service saying that many rape victims are scared about how they will be treated at trial, we are putting together a sensitive article about this issue.

Our report will look at how victims are treated from the moment they report a crime to the point where they give evidence in court.

Ideally we are looking for two case studies with experiences that show the different sides of the issue.

Maybe you successfully prosecuted your attacker and despite any difficulties in court, you would always encourage other women to try and prosecute their attacker too.

Or perhaps your case collapsed because the CPS didn\'t take it to trial, or because you were judged in some way by the jury. Eg. you had been drinking on the night of the attack etc.

The aim of the piece will be to both draw attention to the nature of the prejudices that rape victims face, but also to encourage women not to be out off by them. By using two case studies with opposing experience we wanted to give a balanced account of the issue.

If this is something you feel you might want to help us with or know someone who might be interested in taking part then please get in touch.

We always handle case studies as sensatively as possible and provide readbacks of the copy prior to publication. We are also able to offer compensation for the interviewee\'s time and trouble.
