JOB BACKGROUND

We are producing digital content for a pharmaceutical company to support the launch of a new drug, which will be showcased at a private medical conference to be held later this year.

We are shooting a 3 minute film to showcase to physicians the benefits of the new drug and how it can help patients with heart problems – most of the context will be conveyed through our presenter and with graphics – we are only needing to film a few sections with extras for cutaways.

The first part of the film will show two patients arriving at hospital with a severe heart condition, and then our presenter will talk through the treatment process to the audience, whilst we see the patients being treated in hospital with the new drug.

The last scene in the film, we see a large group of people walking down a set of stairs where we will highlight (using graphics) the few patients who could have been treated using the new drug, reflecting the success rate of the treatment.

We have a very low budget for these films as the digital content will mainly be high-end graphics based – the actors we see only play a very small part in the whole content.

We are looking to shoot towards the end of February/early March within Central London.

CASTING REQUIREMENTS
We are looking to cast a range of supporting artists and extras to stand in as patients and medical staff for our hospital scene, and a range of people for our stairs scene.

ROLE 1 - DOCTOR
We are looking for a male supporting artist to be our Doctor; late 40’s, early 50’s. Fit and healthy, not overweight. Caucasian. Dark hair to grey, not light coloured hair. Think George Clooney from ER or Greys Anatomy doctors.

Our Doctor will be required to stand facing the camera and act as if assessing a notice board and reading results from a scan as an example. No dialogue necessary. Will appear on-screen for approx. 30 seconds - 1 minute. No rehearsal needed.

SHOOT DAY: TBC – penciled for Saturday 3rd March. Needed for half a day, with potential overrun.

LOCATION: TBC. Central Middlesex Hospital.

ROLE 2 - NURSE
Female. Hispanic/Latin/Spanish descent. Age range; 40’s. Healthy frame – not overweight, but not too slim; preferably size 12.

REQUIREMENTS: We will need the nurse to welcome the doctor into the ward and show the doctor where the patient is. Her dialogue will be along the lines of “Hello Doctor, here is your patient”. No rehearsal needed.

ROLE 3 – PARAMEDICS x 2
We are looking for 2x extras to be our paramedics; 1x male and 1x female. Ethnic mix. Age range: 30’s to 40’s. Healthy build.

REQUIREMENTS: No dialogue required. Paramedics will be required to help wheel a gurney with a ‘patient’ on down a hospital corridor.
No rehearsal needed.

SHOOT DAY: TBC – penciled for Saturday 3rd March.

LOCATION: TBC. Central Middlesex Hospital.

FEE: £100.00 each.

ROLE 4 - PATIENT
Male. Age range: 60’s to 70’s. Caucasian. Larger frame, but not overweight/obese. Height: Roughly 6ft.

REQUIREMENTS: For the hospital scene, our patient will need to lie on a gurney and be wheeled down a hospital corridor. For the stairs scene, he will need to walk down the grand stairs amongst the rest of the crowd.

No dialogue. No rehearsal needed.

SHOOT DAYS: TBC – penciled for Thursday 1st March and Saturday 3rd March.

ROLE 5 - PATIENT
Female. Asian descent. Age: 60’s. Height: Between 5’2 and 5’6. Clothes size: Between 8 – 12.
Will be required to wear a hospital gown.

REQUIREMENTS: Our female patient will be either sat in a wheelchair or lying in a bed on a hospital ward.

No dialogue.
No rehearsal needed.

SHOOT DAYS: TBC – penciled for Thursday 1st March and Saturday 3rd March.

LOCATION: TBC. Thursday = South Kensington. Saturday = Central Middlesex Hospital.

ROLE 6 – EXTRA PATIENTS
We will require 13x extras to be the additional patients. Both male and female, mix of ethnicity. Age range: 60’s to 80’s. Mix of height and build. We will only see these extras briefly – they will be lying in beds/gurneys, sitting in wheelchairs, sitting in a waiting room or walking around the wards wearing hospital gowns or their own clothes. No dialogue required. No rehearsal needed.

SHOOT DAYS:
8x people will be required for 2x shoot days (Thursday 1st March & Saturday 3rd March).
5x people will be required for 1x shoot day only (Saturday 3rd March).

LOCATION: TBC. Thursday = South Kensington. Saturday = Central Middlesex Hospital.

FEE: £75.00 each p/day.

ROLE 7 – CROWD/EXTRAS
We will need a broad range of people for the shot on the stairs. Mixture of men, women and children. Range of ethnicities.
Kids: Between 5 years and 15 yrs.
Parents of kids: Between 25 and 45 years.
Other adults: Between 45 and 65 years.

Extras will be required to walk down a set of grand stairs only. Extras to wear their own clothes and bring a second wardrobe option – casual street wear, mix. No rehearsal needed. No dialogue required.

CALL TIME: TBC. 7pm – 11.30pm approx. Sandwiches and light bites will be provided. All of the above will be required for a half day only.

SHOOT DAY: TBC. Thursday 1st March.

LOCATION: TBC. South Kensington.

FEES: £75.00 each.

CASTING
As the roles we are casting for have minimal acting requirements, we will not be holding a casting session. Please submit a portrait/headshot and a full-length shot and email by 7pm on Monday 20th February.

SHOOT DAYS
Shoot days and exact locations TBC.
Shoot day for Crowd extras and 4x patients will be Thursday 1st March. Half day only, from 7pm – 11.30pm approximately. Location: South Kensington.

Shoot day for Doctor, Nurse, Paramedics and all patients (including 4x patients from above) will be Saturday 3rd March. Location: Central Middlesex Hospital.
