OMG YOLO SO CBA WIV LOL'in
(Oh my God, You Only Live Once so I can not be arsed with Laughing out Loud)

We are Limits Dance Company, a new and exciting intermedial movement theatre company who have recently decided to move from Liverpool to Sheffield with the creation of a new piece titled 'OMG YOLO SO CBA WIV LOLin'. The new piece explores the destruction of society through the reliance of our lives on social media and 'mobile culture'. This up beat and quirky piece uses body movement, voice and physical dance theatre along with striking multi and intermedial effects to explore how mobile and social media companies have lied to us and are no longer 'bringing us together' but in fact are keeping us apart attached to our apple products.

Here is the press released synopsis of the show below:

"OMG YOLO SO CBA WIV LOL'in' is a very personal attack on the virtual world we all admire and have a very OPEN RELATIONSHIP to. This piece will once and for all stamp a DISLIKE thumbs down under all our virtual affections and follies, will refuse to HASHTAG our randomness, will no longer LIKE, COMMENT or SUBSCRIBE, will shove YOUR-TUBE up FACEBOOK'S TWITTER so far he'll see BEBO and really stick to the man... APPLE Inc!
A comic dance theatre piece which hopes to merely drag people away from their smart phones, actually be around human contact and in an ironic way cruelly mirror how we all are 2 mouse clicks away from saying goodbye to a real world."

The piece follows up on Liam Gordon's recent manifesto and research journal on 'Metamodern performance' in which he states that “The true form of contemporary theatre lies in Metamodernist views. The views and understanding that modernist, post modern and even classical metaxis must oscillate freely on stage, it is only through this free osciallation and removal of steel lines of obscurity, but through blurring, that we can find the true contemporary nature of the art of today”.

After our success of 'Disco Bloodbath - The Fabulous but True Tale of Murder in Clubland' in the summer, we are excited to create this new piece which will be showcased in Sheffield as well as taken on tour to be shown in Liverpool, Lancashire and Manchester with the hopes of securing our place back at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

With us being in Sheffield, we are taking on a whole new company and are on the look for new experimental performers who are interested in auditioning and performing with the professional company. Our big aim is to showcase new and rising experimental performers from Sheffield which is why we are very interested in auditioning students from Sheffield based higher education with specialisms in performance art and Sheffield performers.

We aim to take on a cast of 14 - 18 performers; any age, gender or ethnicity who are willing to go on this creation process with us. Having the willingness to know your own body and throwing yourself into the creation process is key to us at Limits Dance and that is all we ask for. We are not looking for extensive dance training or impressive CV's but raw and creative minds who can help mold the piece.

This is also a great opportunity for any students wanting to go into the profession as we are a professional company and treat all our members with a high work ethic. We are also encourage many top performance minds to view the work in progress and the final piece and have stood as the platform for many of our previous company members entering further professional pieces. Our connections include: Leap Dance Festival, Lantern Theatre Company, Maelstrom Company, MDI, Julia Griffin VOIDANCE, Mark Edward Company, Debbie Milner and Edge FWD, Paula Mor and Kyuu Theatre Company, Tmesis Theatre Company, Gary Clarke and Earthfall to name a few.
