My name is Don Roberts, a fledgling freelance filmmaker from Birmingham.

I am looking for a locally-based female performer to appear in a series of films about very basic car maintenance. The performer would be seen encountering various motoring-related issues. She would, then, be assisted by an expert, who would go through with her what to do in each situation.

A mate of mine, Rob Hall, who’s a mechanic, has asked me to help him put together a series of videos about basic car maintenance. We thought it would be a good idea to have a female presenter who would encounter various motoring-related problems (e.g. car won’t start, flat tyre, etc) and Rob would help them out.

To avoid any unnecessary cliches, I felt it was important that the presenter didn’t just want to be helped, but that she was – genuinely – willing and eager to get her hands dirty and, actually, be taught properly how to get herself out of trouble.

If you know nothing about cars, you may at an advantage, as you would genuinely learn about cars and would be more likely to ask the right questions at the right than someone who knows about cars.

The role would be a paid one (although the amount is unclear at present) and could lead to other opportunities. I am not bothered about lack of experience! We’ve all got to start somewhere and I – myself – am not long in this industry, so we can both learn together!
