Producing young work which tackles youth issues in the community aimed at 16-25 yr olds. We are seeking 10 young actors, male and female to be apart of an exciting new writing piece which is hitting the Camden Fringe this August. This is an exciting opportunity to work with new artists, network, collaborate and get yourself on the radar as an actor.

“Something Bad is Happening on the Streets” focuses on a fantasia of youth themes from violence, teenage parenthood, drug abuse and sexuality.

Here is a brief description for each character:

Joe - A fiery young gay guy who seeks revenge for the way he has been treated in the past.

Lucas - A sassy young cross-dresser with plenty of balls.

Elliot - An eccentrically camp guy who always grab’s the attention of the room.

Connor - A sidekick who often appears wrong but is nearly always right.

Benny - A violent drug dealer who struggles to deal with a dark past as he tries to lead a good life.

Dates:

Auditions; 9th and 10th of July

Rehearsals; 23rd of July to the 17th of August (weekdays)

Show Date 18th of August @The Pirate Castle, Camden

We will be at The Miskin Theatre, Dartford. A rehearsal schedule will be worked out around the actors so you will not be needed for all dates.

Synopsis

“A violent drug dealer, his counsellor, a cross dressing teenage boy, two gay lovers, two teenage parents and one young boy who is struggling to find his way out of Narnia and into the real world, are all trapped in a small town community and within 72hours one act of violence will change everything.”
