'The Hallway' is a student production based at the University of Derby. Through the use of a symbolic parallel narrative we explore what happens when a person is consumed by a troubled past, and whether or not they allow this past to inhibit their future, or if it makes them strive harder for happiness.

Applicants must be confident that they can deliver a strong emotional performance, whilst being able to appreciate the subtle nuances of the character.

The shoot is scheduled for late march and will be shot over the course of two days. The current funding for the production does not permit for cast members to be paid, however expenses (including travel) and on set catering will be paid for.

Auditions will be held but can be scheduled on an individual basis if necessary. Actors will receive a copy of the script and preparation materials prior to their audition.
Also actors may prepare a piece of their own choosing to go along side the given materials if they feel it best showcases their talent.

All cast members will be credited for their performances and will receive their own copy of the film to add to any portfolio or show-reel.

Laura is the sole symbol of hope, a chance meeting with Harry opens his mind to the possibility of happiness. Though, due to his past, it never becomes more than a delusion. Laura is a bright-faced, pretty woman with a warm smile. She must be portrayed with a sense of warmth.
