Details:

The First Musketeer is an original web series based on the The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas.
The production will shoot for 2 weeks in the South of France next year, with a team made up entirely of professional crew and cast who are collaborating on this project as a labour of love.
We are a collection of individuals who want to push the boundaries of what is expected from online content and stretch our creative legs on the kind of genre that isn't commonplace for projects within the UK.
We are looking for actors who have the flexibility to commit to quite a long, but hopefully very rewarding schedule, which will involve shooting a short promo video in autumn this year, and will include photo shoots, including the rights to not-for-profit use of any photographic material, fight training and equestrian training.
Although this project has the potential to reach worldwide audiences, web content is still in it's early stages, and companies are very cautious about funding an undefined art, so although we are lucky enough to already have the kinds of resources (e.g. a team of stunt horses) that would skyrocket the budget of a normal production all of it has been offered free of charge, which is why this project's pay is expenses only, as there is no guarantee of any profit based on post-success sponsorship. However, if profit that is gained it will be reinvested in the company to go towards funding the second series, on which everyone will be paid if they choose to return.
The audition will be held in London this September and applicants will need to be available one weekend in either October or November (depending on your availability) to shoot the promotional short.
25 yo, Male, White/Tanned, Athletic build.
Athos has a very rich back-story, from which a large amount of his character is formed.
Originally he was a Count, the Comtes de la Fere. He would have commanded men and run his provinces even at his young age. Much to his family's despair he meets a beautiful but poor girl called Anne (aka Milday), they marry against his family's wishes, but in a tragic series of events it is revealed that the woman he married is nothing but a con artist and a criminal. In a rage Athos hangs her, and leaves her dead. Or so he thought. A broken man, he escapes his life and the memory of Anne, and rides to Paris, and that is where the story begins.
As a character Athos is a fascinating mix of black and white. He has a heart of Chivalry and honour pierced by this incredibly dark violence. The 17th century was a violent time but Athos has a darkness that comes from more than being surrounded by death and war. He was brought up as the consummate gentleman, proud, loyal, chivalrous and I believe his upbringing is the reason his anger is just about controllable.
This role requires working with horses and learning demanding fight choreography so good physical fitness is a must.
