Hi,

We are a group of MA film students at Goldsmiths College, and we are looking for three actors to star in our final project “Wild Dan.” The film will be shot on a RED one camera in the state-of-the-art studio at Goldsmiths College and another exterior location around London. The final work will be submitted to national and international festival circuits.

The shooting will take place between the 10th and the 19th of September, although we almost certainly won’t be shooting everyday. The project will be unpaid but we will provide food and travel expenses for the shoot dates. Actors will be provided with a DVD copy of the film and invited to the premiere at BAFTA cinema in January 2012.

[Synopsis]

Dan McGrew, a lonesome cowboy, wanders into a Wild West town. As he strides past the buildings in the town, the dusty streets suddenly disappear and Dan finds himself back behind his desk at his day job. His tyrannical boss Paul keeps picking on Dan and the poor secretary Sally Hetty, whom Dan secretly adores. Lacking the courage to stand up for Sally and himself, Dan escapes into the Wild West fantasy. In this imaginary world, Paul becomes a vindictive sheriff, terrorising the beautiful saloon girl Miss Sally Hetty. As the boundary between the daydream and reality is getting blurred, Dan finally acts out his fantasy in the real world.


[Roles]

Dan McGrew (25-35, male)
Dan is a timid office worker. Lacking the courage to stand up to his tyrannical boss, he escapes into a vivid fantasy world where he becomes a fearless cowboy ready to defend the helpless.


Paul Tool (35-45, male)
Paul is Dan’s boss, an arrogant bully. Paul likes to abuses his position of power to terrorise his employees. In Dan’s daydream Paul is transformed into a cruel sheriff, a vicious tyrant who rules the town with an iron fist.


Sally Hetty (25-35, female)
Sally is a sweet, spectacled receptionist, whom Dan secretly adores. She is not happy with her job but like Dan she endures Paul’s bullying without complaining. In Dan’s fantasy she becomes the striking Miss Sally, a gorgeous saloon girl who captures every man’s heart.
