This is a fantastic opportunity for BIG screen stardom for any unknown (or known) actor, and experience isn’t necessary!
A Jason Statham-like character is required for a short film being made in and around Tyneside. (Other supporting roles from mals and females also sought).
Characteristics of actor:
Must be between 25-38 years of age and no heavier than 196 pounds in bodyweight.
A new film is coming to the North East. “Riding The Tiger”, written by bestselling true crime and now mind power author Stephen Richards, is a classic tale of ruin and redemption with a psychological twist.
The 30-minute film is a no-budget production, and relies entirely on the dedication of the people of the North East to volunteer in producing another piece of aspirational culture to add to the regions reputation for artistic endeavours.
This then is going to be put to production companies to turn into a BIG screen film, and it is hoped that the central character will continue to play that lead role.
Casting begins soon, and a wide variety of roles are available. Predominantly we are looking for someone to play the lead role, which is that of a young man whose life is teetering on the brink of implosion in the Newcastle underworld. The as-yet unnamed character needs to capable of showing menace and grit, but is by no means a brute.
Synopsis
In the midst of the crime underworld, a hard young man’s life is in turmoil.
Drowning in waves of violence, drugs and sex, his existence is unraveling at a rate of knots. A chance meeting with a mercurial self-help guru gives our lead the kick he needs to clean up his act and get out of the game alive. As he is heaved from the underworld by scruff of his neck, a new question shoulder barges its way to the forefront of the young man’s mind “Is all this too good to be true?”
Writer/Director –Stephen Richards
The script comes from Stephen Richards, the international bestselling author of over 80 books. Stephen wrote the first biography of prisoner Charles Bronson ever released, as well as countless true crime volumes about key figures in the UK underworld (and from the north east of England with his Viv Graham books), all published through his self founded company Mirage Publishing and top London publisher John Blake Publishing.
