The long reach of crime invades a home that will never be the same again. With rioting across the UK taking hold, a mother comforts her young daughter as the effects begin to arrive on their doorstep. Amidst the chaos a teenage boy travels home as dawn breaks to face the inevitable consequences of his actions.
We are looking for the character of the teenage boy:
13-17, White Caucasian
Lost and without a cause, the teenage boy is disillusioned by a broken home and a lack of direction. Caught up in the moment he joins the looting during the riots and whilst realising the consequences of his actions, continues on with his ill gained possessions regardless. He only comes to terms with the effect his actions and crime have had when faced with the aftermath and witnessing the repairable damage he has done to his home and family.
Film Details
Home Invasion is a short film being developed as part of a final year project in Derby and was originally submitted to the London Screenwriter's Festival '4 Days In August Competition'. Written and directed by Derby filmmaker Christopher Bevan, the film is an exploration of how the families of offenders were too victims of the widespread crime and chaos that engulfed the country.
The film is produced by , a production company currently being established in the East Midlands. Upon completion the film will be submitted as part of a study assignment and will also be distributed to festivals and promoted online by the production company and the filmmakers involved.
