The finished film is only expected to last around five minutes, but in those five minutes, Kate - you - will be the only girl we see. The challenge of the role in this screenplay was to write something that could be used as a showreel, but also something that could just as much be watched as a short film - and this character carries all of it on her shoulders. Can you inhabit her, take centre stage for the entire time and yet still leave us wanting more?

I'm a first time writer/director - do those words put you off? That's okay, I'm not Spielberg yet and good luck to you. For those still around, this is a passion project which can have more drive behind it than a fully paid studio production. If that kind of ethos interests you, then you might still be in the right place.

With a focus on believable character writing, a professional HD video camera and a PC built specifically for editing, what I'm looking for is the final piece of the puzzle and someone to inhabit the first role I've written for this purpose. She exists as much as she can on paper, but someone needs to help me put her on the screen. I'm not looking to make something sub-par to put on YouTube and then forget about it - I want to make something professional that we can both be proud of. Maybe you're untrained but very much think you have a talent, or maybe you've been to drama school and want something to add to your showreel. As long as you're someone who can share and/or shape a vision, then it doesn't matter.

I'm based in central London, and plan to shoot across a day or three. I'm film literate (and not some teenager with a mobile phone who's just watched The Fast & The Furious 12). Intrigued?
