****CASTING FOR STUDENT SHORT FILM****

The film is a story of how “Sensors Censor Senses”. It portrays the life of a woman (25) who is blind from birth. She is faced with a life changing decision. In the year 2010 a technological advancement has given her the opportunity to see.
This film aims to interpret what her other four senses perceive and translates it into a visual metaphor. It experiments with the tech- nological convergence of media to represent the three transitional stages of her sight: When she is blind, when she begins to gain her sight and when she is sighted.
The narrative twists these three time periods together to compose a climatic sequence of events. The story aims to challenge the notion of reality and artificiality. It challenges these ideas and asks whether there is such a thing.

This film is part of a larger project called Sensors Censor Senses. The project aims to explore space using 3 methodologies: Film, New Media and Live events to explore the spaces in between.

Bhutika Paardatha (2010)

A young woman who is fairly content with her life despite the fact that she is blind. She has a dog “Ali” who has kept her company for many year. They are like best friends. Behind her witty racist feazed she is kind and good hearted.

This is the original character from which Curren is manifested in Bhutika’s mind. Mr. Curren is a middle aged man who has a calm character. He is two faced and violent if he does not get his way.

Curren is a young man who has a wild character. His character is almost unrealistic. It is over blow, like comic book villain. His quirky nature is amplified because of Bhutika’s blindness.

This is the manifestation of Bhutika’s encounter with Mr. Currens . The Appol sales man is a play off what advertisement (hi i’m a Mac) Its a oun on what promotion could look like in the near future. In this film he appears as a hologram in front of door.

Ali is the metaphoric representation of “Alley” (the guide dog). He literally is her best friend And manifests himself into her mind as a man. A companion who has dog like gestures and similar attirbutes such as loving and caring.
