Details:

Rock lead guitarist/actor required for short film.

The film is based on the book 'Diary of a Rock Star' by Paul Chiles Bown and Sebastian Molino about two friends who decide to put a rock band together sending them on a trajectory they never expected to be on.
From ads in papers and ‘telephone ear’ syndrome to the frustrations of dealing with clueless applicants, auditions with people who would have done far better to stay at home, dealing with attitudes and idiocy, leading to a sheet of paper full of expletives, things roll along. Crazy guitarists with out-of-tune guitars, amps that blow up, all in an effort to get somewhere. This is a humorous, light-hearted account of a band starting a zero and following them on the way to success, all the while taking the reader on the journey through the eyes of the musician.

Specifics: May be required to play guitar (rhythm and modern rock lead styles) so own equipment would be an advantage.

Ideally should be around 5'8" tall with a slim build, clean shaven and longish brown wavy hair. Age-wise must look mid-twenties and must have or be capable of speaking with a soft south London accent.

Image preferred for the part: jeans, blue or black and t-shirts and trainers. For the more dressed up scenes, smarter jeans, a white t-shirt under a black shirt with a smart leather jacket over the top and leather boots.

Character description: After answering an advert in a music paper, Mark joins a local rock band who have no idea what lies in store for them. Playing style-wise, Mark is primarily an alternate picker who is noted for his "machine-gun" high speed soloing style, and his party piece with oranges. Mark is of average confidence and sense of humour and has quite an easy-going personality in that he gets on with most people and though not a party-animal he likes to have fun. Generally on the quieter side, he tends to defer to his bandmates in the running of the band. He is content with his lot in life but wouldn't say no to more if it came his way. He lives in a flat with his girlfriend. Work-wise, Mark is a guitar teacher and teaches students from home and at a local college.

Auditions will take place in West London, dates to be arranged shortly.

This is an unpaid job.
