I am directing a new Short Film, a student Short Film. We are looking for a number of Actors - both Lead and Subsidiary Roles are available for this 10-15 minute film. We are also in need of a makeup stylist who can help us achieve our goals in a number of scenes.
Filming: Throughout Feb
Deadline for film: March 13th
Location: Carlisle Only

The Short Film is called River, and it is an ambitious project! This is the story:

Is the horror inside his head or outside? River follows the emotional journey of a 'delusional' young man (Ricky) in the wake of an approaching nightmare. Seeing is believing.
RIVER is the story of two young men: Ricky and Eric. Brothers, and best friends. When Ricky begins seeing objects in the sky, his life starts to change for the worse. Ricky is seen to be delusional; experiencing terrifying, vivid hallucinations of UFOs. His brother Eric starts seeing him differently, no longer loves him like he once did. And so, Ricky's life swiftly submerges into psychological hell. His time inside a care clinic allows him to slowly piece his sanity back together, but a final piece puts a halt to his potential emotional stability, his brothers friendship. He is kept in the clinic for a long time, but it is only when his Dad stops visiting that gives him courage to finally step outside into the world, to find out what's going on. Having spent years inside a care clinic, does he truly realise that he was mentally ill, and a danger to himself. Only after leaving however does he realise that he was wrong, the doctors were wrong, everyone was wrong, but he was once right - the world is experiencing everything Ricky experienced, everything Ricky saw the world is seeing. In a post-apocalpytic world, Ricky is a survivor.

The ambition of this project isn't to make a UFO thriller, adventure, sci-fi with space ships flying overhead firing lasers at flaming buildings, and aliens chasing crowds of screaming civilians. This is because that isn't the story we want to tell. This story is the magnification of a families' life in the wake of an approaching nightmare, which is of course a devastating UFO invasion. It is an eerie and mysterious drama, with psychological horror elements. It is the story of the drama and the dynamic relationships of the characters, with a blurry and terrifying background.
We are looking for enthusiastic actors, no experience is needed really! As long as YOU truly want to be a part of this project and will be available through February. Same goes for any makeup stylists who want to get involved too!
