We are a group of Second year Film and Television Production Students, we are making a short drama piece and require a middle aged actor to play the part of John.

Our drama is about two teenage boys who are bored on their school holidays, Pete and Jake, (16) They decided to attach a small spy camera to a cat that Pete got for Christmas.

The drama follows the goings on of the cat wondering around a typical housing estate that at first is shown to be exactly what you expect, dull and boring. but as the drama progresses the spy camera attached to the cat captures neighbor John, who is originally shown to be very dull and boring, and ultimately having a midlife crisis, having an affair with another neighbor. The remainder of the drama is then Pete and Jake sending out the cat more and more to try and capture more information on John and see what else he is up to. In the end John and the neighbor have an argument on the top of the stairs and he accidentally pushes her down the stairs. This leaves Pete and Jake shocked and in disbelieve at what they have just witnessed.

The role of John will require an actor that can successfully play a man that on the surface look, dull, boring and lifeless, have a facial expression that conveys a man that his fed up of his life. We require an actor that can play this roll and give an excellent performance.

The roll is not particularly challenging but will need to portray the believable body language to successfully play the roll as we vision it.
