ABOUT:

'A Little Rain Must Fall' is an original, high-concept and ambitious short film that explores the boundaries between art and life, stage and screen, and love and hate. It follows Edward and Elizabeth, a couple embarking on an illicit and passionate love affair that spans various time periods and artistic mediums. Taking inspiration from films such as 'Atonement', 'The End of the Affair' and 'In the Mood for Love', we plan to create something both visually beautiful and narratively strong while being punctuated with strong performances.

We are currently looking for two cast members, one male and one female, to play the lead roles of Edward and Elizabeth [please see below for further details]. We are shooting the film in mid-June around the London and South Coast area. However, applicants from all areas of the UK are welcomed and a genuine desire and passion for the project will be valued higher than prior experience.

As an enthusiastic, experienced, and award-winning team, we are confident the film will have a great chance of garnering success at national film festivals and competitions. Examples of our previous films can be sent to applicants to demonstrate the quality we hope to achieve and surpass with this production.

As always, all expenses (inc. food, travel, accommodation) will be covered and a DVD copy of the final film will be provided along with an IMDB credit.

EDWARD:

- 23-35 years old (ideally late 20s)

Edward is a troubled writer, deeply in love with Elizabeth. Although aware that their affair is destined to result in heartbreak, he cannot bring himself to end it. Strangely, for a writer, he can't always find the right words to say and is more of a stoic, silent but strong type.

ELIZABETH:

- Female
- 23-35 years old (ideally mid-late 20s)

Elizabeth is a beautiful but troubled woman, caught between the familiarity of family life at home and the excitement of her affair with Edward. Whilst in a vulnerable position, she remains strong-minded and has an excellent way with words. She speaks poetically and moves lyrically, the perfect muse for her lover.
