Stella Artois are looking to find an actor to play the role of the late Jacques D’Azur aka “The King of Cannes” in a short film celebrating his life. If for whatever reason you are unfamiliar with the name, to summarise, Jacques was a French film producer/director/actor/tennis player/chess master/ backgammon champion/waterskiing pioneer and full time bon-vivant known for his work on the red carpets and swimming pools of the French Riviera.

Stella Artois are looking for someone over the age of 18 capable of filling his brogues, with audition entries being accepted from the 1st to the 31st March. If you submit the winning audition expect to be flown to Cannes, stay in Jacques’ suite at the Carlton hotel and dine at his favourite restaurants. You’ll get the red carpet treatment at exclusive after parties including a star studded gathering at Chez Jacques', Stella Artois' luxury, invitation-only lounge at an exclusive beachfront property in Cannes.

If you’re over 25 you’ll also be taking the lead role in the short film which will be premiering at Cannes Film Festival and be screening on Film Four putting you well on the way to following in Jacques’s famous footsteps.

Auditions will be taking place on our website where you’ll be taken through a short scene. All you need is a webcam, microphone and plenty of charisma.

The film is a biopic of Jacques’s life looking at what made the man such a coveted and well loved character across the World.

Age Range: Must be over 18 to win the trip to Cannes however to star in the film as well you’ll have to be over 25
Breakdown: Jacques D’Azur was the King of Cannes. A friend was quoted as saying, “Jacques never sat in the best seat in the theatre; the best seat was always the one next to his”.

Stella Artois are looking for someone capable of exuding this level of gravitas and cool. The attached video clip gives an idea in to the sort of man he was – calm, cool, collected and stylish. He was the Movie Star’s Movie Star.
