We are filming a short film about a man who has devoted his life to searching for Morag, the monster of Loch Morar. His existence revolves around waking up, having breakfast, looking at his charts and maps, going out in his boat and diving beneath the surface in the pursuit of Morag; and returning, with increasing defeat, until a dream where Morag is just about visible to him reignites his focus. We aim to highlight the dramatic natural landscapes of Loch Morar, and The Man's simple existence in pursuit of something that others may deem ridiculous; to present his passion in a simple yet beautiful way. We are working with exceptional CGI talent and musicians to bring this short film to life.
The Man is a non-speaking part, but there will be a lot of scope to bring emotion and character to the table; breathing, his angry noises, etc. It's therefore crucial to have an actor that delivers a performance full of nuance without the benefit of speech. We are seeking a weathered gent with a beard; think Scandinavian or Scottish fisherman. The part requires the actor to get himself safely in and out of a small boat and into Loch Morar in full diving gear safely.
