I'm a visual artist in the final year of a photography MA. I am currently working on a new stills project that involves re-enactment. I just wrote my thesis on something I called 'The Therapeutic Real', a kind of realism I identified within moving image that allowed simulation to become real for the person involved. I will be taking these ideas and re-working them through a performance which looks at the aesthetics used by specific London churches. As part of the project I will be re-enacting deliverances*; I am now casting, so if you are interested being involved please just get in touch.

BACKGROUND
I started visiting a Nigerian church last year that practiced deliverance, as part of personal research into faith that followed on from a 2012 series 'The Conversation'. I became fascinated by the theatrical nature of the service, the aesthetics used and the complex issues surrounding what was being presented... truth/fiction?
I've started to consider this visual language and break it down to understand it more fully. As part of this process I have decided to reconstruct various elements, focusing on deliverance, and to do this I require actors who can take on the role of either congregation member or minister. Like in Tom McCarthy’s book Remainder, particular scenes will be based upon real life, and worked upon until perfect.

Rehearsals would be carried out at college (RCA), moving to location where need be, and the final output would be used for exhibition purposes, forming a new personal art project. Everything would have a very polished studio feel, with careful lighting that gives a clean and precise quality to the work. Payment would need to be discussed; anyone involved would have travel covered but I would be looking to offer my services in return for your time�� prints, head shots – whatever it takes to get this done.
