The Production
2.8 Hours Later is Street Game that combines elements of play and theatre. With some scenes staged on the street and others in an array of interesting locations. Each city we visit gets a unique staging of the game. Some past locations have included Multi storey car parks, Derelict shops, Churches, Police stations, Bank volts and shopping Malls. With 500 players per night and minimum 4 night run in any city, we are looking to have up to 16,000 players this year.
We tell our players that starting from a secret city centre location, 2.8 Hours Later is a thrill-packed roller coaster ride of zombie movie action. The game starts at sundown and is 2.8 hours of pure adrenaline. The experience is physically and psychologically challenging and though your adrenaline will keep you going, you'd better be prepared for a night of endurance. This is after all, the end of the world!
Players find themselves in a city that has been devastated by a zombie infection. Their aim: to find the small pockets of survivors hiding out in some amazing locations, while all the time running from the hordes of bloodthirsty zombies roaming the streets. Each location will get them one step closer to the survivors camp - the last safe place in the city. Their goal is to make it through this nightmarish world and find the Survivors camp and the Zombie disco within.
Each city has a different layout and different characters. The character list provided is a complete set from which we select the appropriate ones for the city. Please apply for any role you like. If we like you we will ask you to come to a casting session. We do not strictly cast actors by the role they applied for.
Please note we do not cover any additional expenses such as travel or accommodation. 2.8 Hours Later is Street Game that combines elements of play and theatre. Lead Roles
The Stricken Priest
Male, 30 - 70
Priest in the throws of becoming a zombie, chained up in a dark church and abandoned by the choir and the congregation . A sad irony - he's not yet quite a full zombie and is able to beg for help but it's way too late, he's almost entirely savage. He swings between clarity and zombie ferocity. He isn't trying to lie to the players, he is in denial.
The Butcher
Male, 30 - 60
A man sent crazy by the apocalypse has set up a makeshift butcher's yard. There he is butchering zombies and people alike. He believes the players have come here to him to make a good end of it. He can dispatch them from this world and save them the 'inevitable' fate of becoming one of the undead. This delivers a cross purpose to the scene. The players are just looking for the next location but he is looking at them with abattoir eyes.
Homeless Guy/ Baglady
Male / Female, 35 - 60
Just a crazy tramp right? A filthy homeless person to outsiders but to players they're actually the gatekeeper between worlds. Someone who knows how to survive invisibly in both worlds, a magical good guy who wouldn't be out of place in Harry Potter or The Fisher King. They don’t shout and scream or draw attention to themselves. The players should wonder “is this realy part of the game”?
Last Woman Standing
Female, 30 - 50
Professional, a real high flier. She is single, has no children. The horror of the apocalypse has caused her to shut down. Colleagues have been killed and reanimated in front of her. Turning on her. She trusts no one, she has lost faith in others and will only deal with them in simple terms now. Stripped of her worldly skills she is like a child. Selfish and illogical. She is diabetic and in need of sugar. When the zombies chased her she dropped her bag. She had some sweets in it but the place is crawling...
The Kidnapper
Male 30-50
He's left his wife assuming she's dead. He's out for himself taking whatever he feels he needs. The apocalypse has not imbued him with the Dunkirk spirit. He takes whatever he wants, this has so far included his new wife - the woman he holds hostage and the building and its supplies he has commandeered.
