Details:

\"Somewhere Off the M6\" is a MET Film School MA Directing graduate short film.

Synopsis:
Ian Thanet sits alone at the bar of an empty Travel Lodge lounge area. After a brief, stilted exchange with the barman, he notices a woman sat alone at one of the tables on the far end of the room, considers her for a moment, removes his wedding ring, and approaches her. While Ian clumsily instigates conversation, he comes to suspect that he has made a dreadful mistake and that the woman, Lucy, is not all that she seems…

Character:
Ian Thanet is in his mid 40\'s to 50\'s and is the human equivalent of a brown envelope. He is the kind of man that equates happiness with security. He has everything he needs, but nothing he wants. Ian epitomises the english suburban middle class. The piece explores the lowest moments of this ordinary man.
The ideal candidate is a caucasian man in his mid 40\'s to 50\'s able to speak with a Southern English accent.
