Who we\'re looking for?
Our current acting company is fantastic, hard-working and incredibly talented; every single member of the team loves working for children and takes great pride in the work they create. They also care about our lovely company, and that\'s very important.
So, if you\'re interested in joining us, our expectations are incredibly high. We are looking for very special \'all-rounders\' to become part of the team. As a highly talented performer, with fantastic comedic skills, you\'ll be able to sing like an angel. Ideally, you\'ll also be able to dance or play a musical instrument, and you should have some experience of working with puppets, or at the very least, be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills in puppetry.
Finally, you must have a great deal of experience in working for, and alongside children, especially 3 - 7 year olds and demonstrate a real passion for this kind of work! If your CV does not reflect your experience in children\'s theatre, you will not be called for audition.
What we offer you?
PERFORM in our wonderful shows
You will be performing in one or more of our brilliant shows in theatres and schools, utilising your existing skills as an actor, whilst developing new skills as a puppeteer. You will also have the opportunity to devise and deliver workshops, drama sessions and other educational projects for our lovely company.
Salary
You will be paid a one-off rehearsal fee, then the salary is £325 per working week, plus accommodation when on tour is provided and paid for by the company.
You should consider that due to our existing touring schedule, the team can work up to six days a week.
Career development
This is a great opportunity for those who wish to develop as a performer, and work within a very successful touring theatre company. You\'ll experience all aspects of a small theatre company, from the hard work to the huge rewards. You\'ll also be given full training and support throughout from a very friendly, caring team. After all, we want you to love working for Blunderbus as much as we do. You will not be thrown in at the deep end, as we care too much about every member of the team. You will be provided with ongoing training, and senior members of the company will serve as mentors, offering help and support whenever needed.
The audition process
We\'re very keen to select the right people to join our fabulous team, and therefore, we aim to carry out a thorough selection process. The auditions will run in the following way: Wednesday 25th September OR Thursday 26th September, 2013. On each day, we\'ll be running EITHER a morning workshop session (0930 - 1230) OR afternoon workshop session (1330 - 1630) at our company rehearsal space in Newark, Notts.
