Job Specifics:

Details:
The film is based on the story of "Little Red Riding Hood" and will be approximately 10 minutes long. It is about a little girl, whose Mum divorced her Dad two years before the film is set. Since then, the girl has become increasingly introverted, becoming more and more obsessed with her 'Little Red Riding Hood' book. It is established through the film that she sees the Wolf in the story as a metaphor for someone in her life who she is afraid of. In her version of the book, Little Red Riding Hood manages to defeat the Wolf, and in this sense the girl feels that she can overcome the person in her life who she fears. Her mother is concerned about the links that there may be between her daughter's unusual behaviour and her father, who has a tendancy to drink a lot and become aggressive. Because of the mother's growing concern about her obsession with the book they take the daughter to the library to see if they can interest her in another book, but she finds an older version of Little Red Riding Hood, where the Wolf is victorious. At this point she realises that the story she had based her hope on may not help her, and that fairytale endings aren't necessarily true. In the final scene, there are clips of a nightmare the girl is having where she is followed through the woods by a figure. The film ends with a shot of the Mum's new husband standing in the doorway of the girl's room, putting doubt in the audience's mind about who the 'Wolf' is, and why.
The film is for our degree show at Central St. Martins (University of the Arts London). As the degree show is very publicised, the film will be seen by many people within the industry and is a great way to get experience and to get yourself seen. We are also planning on taking the film further and entering it into various competitions.
