Adolescence is a hard time, and everyone deals with feelings in different ways. Alice is a young teenage girl struggling with feelings of inadequacy and self-worth, and as she tries to find ways to cope, she finds the destructive, yet strangely comforting world of Anorexia Nervosa.

Exploring the deeply disturbing psychological aspects of the disease, we see Alice's struggle with inner conflict, and take a step into her world of temptation, seduction, and confusion, which for her takes on the form of a magical, bacchanal banquet, in a dark secluded cave.

After struggling on her own, Alice meets some new friends who help and support her, but not everything is as it first seems. With Ana trying to convince her that 'Happiness comes from perfection, and being thin is perfect' and Aveline trying to convince her that eating is the way forward, Alice is stuck in the middle with her own decisions to make.

The characters range from roughly 16 - mid twenties. Females and Males needed.

ALICE
Alice is a young girl riddled with feelings of low self worth and unacceptable body image which drives her into the grips of anorexia. As the character is starving, binging and purging, she needs to be slim, but not necessarily skeletal-looking.

Must be able to portray a whole range of different emotions

ANA
Ana represents the 'bad', reckless side of Alice, the side that wants to be skinny, beautiful and happy, and will do anything to get that goal.

Ana looks beautiful, thin and glamorous. The image of perfection that Alice strives for. She seems nurturing, loving and kind, but at the same time is manipulative, dark and malevolent.

Currently this role is open to be played by the same actress as Alice or by a separate actress depending on the auditions.

AVELINE
Aveline represents the 'good', sensible side of Alice, the side that knows starving is not the way forward, and not the glamorous, perfect ideal that Ana makes it out to be.

Aveline looks fairly mundane. Not particularly eye-catching or beautiful, but not unattractive, just plain and 'boring'

This role is also open to either be played by the same actress as Alice and Ana, or by a separate actress depending on the Auditions.

ANOREXIC EXTRAS
6 extras needed, all have small speaking parts, a mixture of male and female, between the ages of 16 - 30. Must be slim as the characters are anorexic, but again this doesn't necessarily mean skeletal-looking.
