Ju Suis Daddy (working title) is the second feature film from writer, director Mickael N’Dour and produced by Black Light Productions Gregoire De Langlade.

Mickael had great success at the London Independent film festival in 2008 winning the award for Best UK short film. His first feature ‘Highlight’ is set to be released in late December and is being distributed by Future films (Planet 51, Cracks)

Ju Suis Daddy will be completed in time to premier at the Cannes Film Festival 2010, and will then go on to festivals world wide.

 This is a great opportunity to work with a fantastic up and coming director.

 Synopsis Gabriel is an honest man struggling to see his son. Ex-lover Lucy takes care of their boy, but Gabriel is no longer wanted. Calling, pleading, banging at closed doors, Gabriel faces the family who won't budge for anything. Let down by the law, rejected a family, his road takes a devious turn. Paternal justice has a new face of terror, and the results will not be pretty.

Characters:

JOANNA (Female) Description: Caucasian female, 20-25 yrs old, English speaker, Simon’s girlfriend. Sweet, attractive, lanky. She is bubbly on the surface but in an uneasy way. She is eager to please and worries a lot. She is self conscious and sensitive about small things. She is intelligent, narrow minded, sees things in the way she chooses to see them.

SIMON (Male) Description: Caucasian male, 20-25 yrs old, English speaker. Margaret and Nigel’s son, Lucy’s brother. Pale, glasses, slim. Simon is laid back, cerebral and artistic. He is inherently homosexual, and has romantic interest in male friends, but is unwilling to admit this to even his loved ones. His behaviour is aloof, wry ; outwardly friendly but ultimately guarded. He refuses to speak his mind, and retreats quietly into himself whenever pressed. Actor must be comfortable with interaction with the same sex.

CHRIS (Male) Description: Caucasian male, 23-28 yrs old, English speaker. Lucy’s boyfriend. Fresh faced, peppy, jock. He is confident, self important. He has high ideals about the world and how it should be. He likes to enlighten people with his opinion at parties. Chris has a slight strut to his walk and believes that many girls will find him attractive. He believes he is a responsible, mature man that can be in a relationship with a likewise woman. What he doesn’t admit to himself, though, is that he’d rather just take drugs and sleep with tarty girls. Adult situation required

LUCY (Female) Description: Caucasian female, 24-28 yrs old, English speaker. Margaret and Nigel’s daughter. Pale, pretty with curly hair. Lucy is ultimately shy and insecure, showing akward body language around new people. She can be sweet, friendly, intuitive and kind. But her dysfunctional family life makes her desperately uneasy, and ultimately she is lost in life. She holds on her son Oscar ; the saving grace of her life, but other than him, she sees little future for herself.

MARGARET (Female) Description: Caucasian woman 50 - 60 yrs old. English speaking. Nigel’s wife. Pale, tall with short hair and a permanently hassled expression. She holds herself with a resolute, sober air. Earns an impressive salary as a nurse and is proud of that. She is the matriarch of the family, the driving force and the one whose decisions are definitive. Some nudity required for this role

NIGEL (Male) Description: Caucasian male, Mid fifties, English speaker. Meek, pallid, His hair will be gray or going gray. He is a well meaning but pathetic man. On the surface he is friendly, diplomatic, sensible, but this hides a submissive core. Some nudity required for this role
