The Batman Recalls

The Batman Recalls is a Postdramatic piece challenging the theatrical language and performative aesthetic that is commonly used by many mainstream West End productions. Based on Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight and Frank Miller’s Comic series, The Batman Recalls brings to the audience the same excitement of an action movie by using multi-media creatively and effectively. Selective clever monologues of Bruce Wayne help the piece explore the soul beneath the mask of the most philosophical superhero, Batman.

We are ground breaking theatre-makers in the MA Performance Design & Practice program who are not afraid to deconstruct and reconstruct Postdramatic theatrical expressionism. We are not interested in imitating reality, instead we question the fictional quality of theatre. The Batman Recalls would be the most genuine lie and/or truth that the audience rarely see in the 21st century fringe theatre.

We aim to continue developing the piece and tour in different venues in London, Seoul, Hong Kong and hopefully many more cities across the globe.

Calling for one experienced actor (Min Age: 22, Max Age: 70) to play the role of Batman:
