Details:

The aim behind Gravediggin' (with...) is to spoof the concept of the deaths of celebrities/public figures, particularly the idea of celebrities/public figures being mythologised by their deaths and media representation. A possible jingle over the opening and closing credits will spoof cheery television shows like The Waltons and the sketch will take this concept down a new, surrealistic and dark comedy avenue (who knows, this avenue might be near both Rockford and a Hard Place Avenue?). The format will consist of a sketch, no longer than about five to ten minutes, and will be set in a graveyard. It will feature two female characters. The sketch will literally feature two people digging graves and their own graves and will be filled with puns and references to other celebrities who literally dug their own graves like Amy Winehouse's Hilda Ogden-esque headscarf. There aren't any direct influences upon this, but perhaps something like David Lynch's Eraserhead and its elliptical images would give you an idea of how this might turn out.

We have already found an actress for the first character, but are still looking for a second black actress around the age of 44. Please contact timww87@gmail.com if you are interested in performing in this original and offbeat production and/or possibly singing the theme tune.

Just a reminder that this will be unpaid with food and drink provided.

Thank you,

Tim Woodward,

June 2017
