Details:

Hi everyone! My name is Shanoor and I am producing a short film dealing with homophobia as part of the BT’s ‘Big Voice’ initiative (BT has already committed to show the film on live sites around the country during the Olympics next year). The film will be directed by an award-winning director and shot on location in Cardiff.

The story is a short drama about a young boy subjected to homophobia and bullying, and how public intervention brings him back from the brink of suicide. The film has very minimal dialogue. Experience is not a necessity, passion however, is. The principal roles are:

The Boy – able to play a teenage boy in his late teens, 15-17. Actor must be 18 or over. Must have a long fringe.

Girl – attractive, slim, no taller than 5’ 4”, able to play a teenage girl in her late teens, 15-17. Actor must be 18 or over. Preference for long hair but not essential.

The exchange-glance boy – good-looking, able to play a teenage boy in his late teens, 15-17. Actor must be 18 or over.

Bully – tall, well built, tough looking.

Bully’s two side-kicks - ditto

Father –mid-30s, slim-medium build, able to quickly grow full beard (or willing to cut off existing beard!)

Teacher – mid-30s to mid-40s

20 Extras - able to play teenage boy or girl in late teens, 15-17. Must be 18 or over. Must be reliable.

Payment details: all expenses paid. Food and drink will be provided during the shoot. All participants will receive a copy of the film on DVD.
