Synopsis

Kash is a software engineer and Mary is a student from Argentina. They meet for a brief period in London, after which Mary returns to her home town in Argentina. They promise to stay in touch through letters and make a pact that they will never use Facebook, Email or whats-app to communicate. By writing letters they begin to know more about each other and the questions rise about who they are and what do they really want in their lives? Kash realizes that he is stuck in a boring job and Mary understands that she is losing people in her lives just because she is too much involved in her work.

Kash leaves his job and travels to India where he works as a waste management consultant in a small village in Kerala. Mary meets an Irish man in Argentina and they fall in love. They move in together with a hope to strengthen their relationship.

Kash returns to London, now more focused with what he wants. He begins to work in a farm and starts giving TED Talks about how managing waste can protect the environment. Meanwhile, Mary gets pregnant with her boyfriend and when she tells this to him, he leaves her. She is scared and confused because she knows she cannot have an abortion in Argentina. His mother and sister begin to suffocate her by being over protective. She feels alone and cornered for the first time.

Kash invites Mary to London, as she can have her abortion there. Mary wants to go but she doesn't know if Kash is doing this because he loves her or because he actually cares for her as a friend. Kash is also confused about his feelings. That even after not seeing each other for so many years, how come they feel so connected? Who are they and what is their relationship?

The play is an attempt to bring back the nostalgia of writing letters in a modern world that is driven by instant gratification through social media and the related digital technologies.
