Details:

Layney is a 20 minute short drama type film about an 18 year old girl, who has grown up in care since the age of 8, and has recently been fostered by a couple. Layney has emotional and behavioural difficulties, and so takes drugs, drinks a lot of alcohol, and has a party life style. She regularly gets into trouble with the police, and at her latest court appearance the judge ruled that Layney has to attend a Young Offenders School Unit, which takes in Young Offenders aged 18 - 25, daily Monday - Friday, to give them something constructive to do. At the Unit, the Young Offenders get anger management lessons, controlling alcohol and drug abuse lessons, councelling and English, Maths and Science lessons. This 20 minute short film shows Layney's emotional and behavioural problems both at home and the Unit. The feature length film script to Layney has been completed, and all successful actors for the short will get the opportunity to play the same charactors in the future feature length film. Auditions are on Saturday 21st January 2012, and we will be rehearsing and filming in February. I can only pay each actor £10 a week for rehearsals and filming, but cannot pay a fee. Actors for the future feature length film will get a fee. Please email me k with your CV and photograph

Actors that I need;
A white male actor aged 35 - 45 years old who MUST be able to do a German accent for the role of Frenkstern (Layney's foster dad) This role is very small, but he has a much bigger role in the feature length, Frenkstern has the most trouble with Layney, as she can't stand him, he is very intelligent, and calm, with a reserved personality

A white female actor aged 35 - 45 years old for the role of Julianna (Layney's foster mum) You must have your own car as driving is requires, and there is physical acting to this role. Julianna is a 1st time foster mum, and is struggling to cope with Layney's behaviour. She is patient a lot of the time, but has reached the i've had enough stage

A white female actor aged 35 - 45 years old for the role of Helena (a support teacher at the unit) There is physical acting involved in this role. Helena is a very motherley charactor, who goes right out of her way for Layney. She is very reassuring and calming, so I need an actress who is naturally the motherley type

A black male actor aged 35 - 50 years old for the role of Jay (a teacher at the unit) There is physical acting involved in this role. Jay hasn't been a teacher at the unit for long, and is very used to the quiet life, which he wants back, but that is impossible whilst working at the unit, he gets irritated easily with the young offenders, but is a funny charactor (mostly unintentionally)

A black OR white female actor aged 18 - 25 years old for the role of Macey (a young offender at the unit) There is physical acting involved with this role. Macey is the Ghetto girl. She speaks and acts like a tough nut, and isn't afraid of having physical fights. She is not the type of person you would want to cross.

A female actor (any ethnicity) aged 18 - 25 years old for the role of Rihanna (a young offender at the unit) Rihanna is loud and has a dynamic intimadating personality. She has a loud laugh, and knows every criminal in the game. She is the type of girl who always gets what she wants, when she wants it

A white male actor aged 18 - 25 years old for the role of Liez (a young offender at the unit) Liez is quite a funny charactor, he loves to cause chaos, and trouble between other people, and has a 'just say it as you think it' attitude. He has the ability to shoot anybody down with one liners, and get away with it
