The Drifter is a no-budget independent feature. Our previous work includes an experimental documentary that premiered at the Cornwall Film Festival and a film which won at the Toronto based ReelHeart International Film Festival.

The Drifter does not obey one particular genre, but it could be labelled as both 'arthouse' and 'avant-garde'. Influences on the film include Godard and the early work of Jim Jarmusch.

The main character is Mori Anderson and he features in every scene.

All actors/actresses would be expected to bring an element of improvisation to the film. Unfortunately, payment cannot be offered at this stage. However, the film shoot is to be quick and food will be provided. All actors will be heavily promoted at screenings of the films and in all publicity material.

Auditions are to be a rolling process.

The shoot is currently scheduled for the week beginning 15th August 2011, for two weeks. Shooting schedules will be set around actor availability.

MORI ANDERSON
Age: 29
Gender: Male

Mori is a brooding individual who has little money but believes passionately in art. He is a photographer. He is a man bored with existence and refuses to bow down to the routines of society.

CASSIE CARNEGIE
Age: 28
Gender: Female

Cassie is a lively and vibrant young woman. She could be perceived as naive in her outlook on life, but she simply enjoys embracing every minute of everyday. She is fiery and opinionated and is not afraid to speak her mind.


JEFF JONES
Age: late 30's
Gender: Male

Jeff is a gallery owner and art dealer, but it is money that motivates him not art. He is fashion conscious, vain, arrogant, sometimes rude, and always has to be in charge.


LILY-ANN
Age: 27
Gender: Female

A close friend of Mori, she is the only person to truly understand his way of thinking. She herself is care free, a bohemian and a sound-artist. She is happiest when left to roam and to listen to the world through her recording equipment. Her sexual identity is impossible to pin down, her appearance androgynous.
