Details:

Hello everyone! My name is Ryan Westington. I – alongside my writing partner, Shabib Ullah – am looking to shoot the PILOT episode, for our semi-autobiographical sitcom. Based in an Indian restaurant, the pilot will be shot as a mock-u-mentary.

The location for our shoot will be SOUTHEND-ON-SEA, ESSEX. We have a killer script, and are now looking for actors to bring our project to life. We will be looking to submit this pilot to potential production companies, with the aim of getting it commissioned.

We will begin shooting on the 20th September 2019 until the 29th September 2019. The parts will be UNPAID, however we will cover reasonable travel expenses and you will be provided food and drink on set every day. Furthermore, we will send you footage for you show reels, and you will be credited.

Who we are looking for…

Bob- Bangladeshi male, mid to late 50s:
The eccentric, hot headed manager/owner of the restaurant. He is the self-proclaimed ‘king of curries’, and knows everything about the restaurant game. MUST SPEAK BENGALI.

Raz- Mixed race (Asian/Caucasian) male, early to mid 20s.
A wannabe entrepreneur who knows little to nothing about the restaurant game, but really wants to make an impression on Bob- his father. Although he tries to cover it with bravado, he is just an eager puppy.

Ryan- Caucasian male, late 20s to mid 30s.
A worn out head waiter who is disillusioned by working in the restaurant business- especially from working under Bob. He is often the voice of reason.

Sharif- Bangladeshi male, late 40s.
A sad, sack of meat of a man. Spineless, hopeless and gormless, the head chef mopes around the kitchen, browbeaten by his wife. Preferably Bengali speaker, but not essential.

Nazia- Bangladeshi female, late 30s to early 40s.
A fed up housewife, who has been left to look after the kids. Nazia came to the UK with a heart of promise. However, her husband - the Head Chef - isn’t the man she expected him to be. MUST SPEAK BENGALI.

Lesley- Pakistani male, late 50s.
The slimy, confident rival of Bob. Owns a bigger, better restaurant than Bob and brings it up frequently. Preferably Bengali or Hindi speaker.

Ron Smith- Caucasian male, 40s to 50s.
An aged, wannabe pop star who didn’t quite escape the 70s new romantic phase. Ron Smith is a deluded, laid back guitarist, eager to play his music to any crowd, even one that is utterly unenthused. SOME GUITAR EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
