Broken is an engaging story about fractured love in the modern day. It is a dark thriller with with a twist. The script deals with many emotions and will be a good opportunity for actors to showcase their skills. The story develops around the protagonist Tommy and his obsessive desire of Elizabeth. As the story delves deeper into the lives of the characters, the motives and histories are discovered.; the unfaithfulness of Elizabeth's boyfriend Alex, the promiscuous lifestyle of his mistress Layla and the hidden presence of Tommy's unrequited love.

We are a young but experienced crew with a lot of talent and passion for what we do and work tirelessly to achieve our goals. We will be shooting in the Derby area over 2-3 days in early April.

Character Breakdown

Tommy
White Male
Age 30-45

The film is told through Tommy’s eyes, a man truly devoted to Elizabeth however his strong emotions seem to be eradicating his rationality. When faced with the possibility of Elizabeth leaving him, Tommy begins to take action with alarming consequences.

Tommy's physique is not of a well built man he is a ghost amongst the crowd, hardly ever standing out until he chooses otherwise.

Elizabeth

Female
Age 19-27

Elizabeth is a beautiful and successful independent woman. However her beauty and success do not go unnoticed. As Elizabeth undergoes life’s hardships, yet pulling through, Elizabeth is unaware of the damage one man’s love can cause. Tommy perceives Elizabeth as a "pure", untainted woman and admires her. When her boyfriend is unfaithful, Tommy sees this as his moment to save her.

Physically Elizabeth is an attractive woman who is a natural beauty. Slim and blonde (although the hair colour can change)

Layla

Female
Age 20-30

Layla is young at heart and lives for the day. Masking away her insecurities Layla comforts her loneliness with meaningless nights of passion. Layla knows very little about Elizabeth however seems to play a vital part within Elizabeth’s life. She is the opposite of Elizabeth's purity and represents that which has drawn Tommy to a woman like her, as opposed to women he understands to be cheap like Layla.

Physically she is attractive and has black hair (although the hair colour can change)

Elizabeth's Boyfriend Alex

Male
Age 20-30

The boyfriend is a key character in the narrative he is the physical barrier that stops Tommy from being with his love. He leaves Elizabeth for Layla and sets off a chain of events that will change Tommy and Elizabeth's lives for ever.

Alex is Elizabeth’s former partner. The two women he is with are polar opposites and represent his different desires. After making a lot of mistakes within his relationship Alex can’t help but feel remorseful over the choices he made and the vision of what something could have been.
