Details:

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Tram Ride 2019 is Seaton Tramways fifth year of operating the Rail Events & Warner Bros.™ Licensed event.

> Please only apply in this instance if you can attend auditions in Exeter 29th August <

Starting in 2015, the event is now multi award winning and has been performed to over 15 thousand people. The event is based on the popular 2004 Christmas film ‘The Polar Express’ based on the 1985 book by Chris Van Allsburg.
2019’s event will see 7500 guests ride in November and December. It is a live interactive, theatrical performance which will employ actors and singers for 90-minute round trips from Seaton Tramway, including an hour at our ‘North Pole’ for guests, amounting to an experience that last approx. 2½ hours.
This a Live experience that can repeat up to 4 times a night.

ACTORS & PERFORMERS
There are 3 performance ‘areas’ as part of the event which can require different performance styles and skills. All areas will require performers who are good at crowd control and holding attention.
Seaton Station is the first location as part of the event and is spilt in to 2 different areas. Performers here are the first faces of the event and will play a big part of warming up the audiences and introducing the story. The Pre-show may include singing as a part of a duet as well as performing a choreographed dance routine.
Trams are the second part of the event and are enclosed saloons which travel 3 miles to the North Pole. These are moving light rail vehicles and require performers to be good on their feet with balance and comfortable standing in a moving vehicle. On board, a range of scripted moments and audience interaction will be required as well performing choreographed dance routines
The third area is ‘The North Pole’ and is situated at our second station. This is an open area, with interactive areas both inside and outside. Energy is most important here and interacting with a captive audience for at least 60 minutes is required. Performers with basic circus skills would be great in this role. A small ‘show’ is also performed as part of the event which includes audience participation, singing & dancing.
