PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We are producing a range of audio-visual exhibits for an exciting new visitor attraction in York which celebrates the story of chocolate and confectionery in the capital of chocolate.
The attraction aims to immerse people in confectionery and chocolate\'s past - from the Mayans and Aztecs who fought over the food they saw as a gift from the gods through the conquistadors to York\'s Merchant Adventurers who built York as a trading city on top of its Roman then Viking roots.

AV / INTERACTIVE DESCRIPTION: One of the exhibits uses audio-visual projection and soundtrack to tell the story of the Origins of chocolate.


CHARACTER 1: AZTEC VILLAGERS / WARRIORS (Extras)

Age range: 18 - 50

Physical Appearance: Extras need to be from or look as though they\'re from a South or Central American background. They will need to have good characterful faces, an athletic build, dark hair, dark skin and dark eyes.

Extras will be required to perform in Aztec and Mayan costume and make-up including body-paint, masks and helmets. They will need to be comfortable wearing small outfits and being barefoot.

We are looking for extras who can express emotion through facial expression and physical gesture.


CHARACTER 2: KING MONTEZUMA II
Moctezuma was the ninth tlatoani or ruler of Tenochtitlan, reigning from 1502 to 1520. The first contact between Indigenous civilizations of Mesoamerica and Europeans took place during his reign, and he was killed during the initial stages of the Spanish conquest of Mexico, when Conquistador Hernán Cortés and his men fought to escape from the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan.

The actor will be required to come in for a screen-test on either December 1st, or 2nd at a Central London location.

Age Range: 40s - 60s

Physical appearance: The actor will need to be from or look as though from a South or Central American background. He will need to have an athletic build, dark hair, dark skin and dark eyes.
The actor will be required to perform in Aztec costume and make-up including body-pain and a head-dress. He will need to be comfortable wearing this type of costume.

As this idea behind this AV is an accurate reconstruction of the discovery of the cocoa bean so we are looking for an actor with similar facial features and build who can give a realistic performance as Montezuma II.

As this is a non-speaking role we are looking for an actor who can express emotion through facial expression and physical gesture.

The actor will also be required to film other more generic ‘warrior’ scenes.

The actor will be required to come in for a screen-test on either December 1st, or 2nd at a Central London location.


CHARACTER 3: HERNÁN CORTÉS
Hernán Cortés de Monroy y Pizarro, 1st Marquis of the Valley of Oaxaca (1485 – December 2, 1547) was a Spanish Conquistador who led an expedition that caused the fall of the Aztec Empire and brought large portions of mainland Mexico under the rule of the King of Castile in the early 16th century.

Age range: 30 - 40

Physical appearance: Caucasian European with a strong build, dark hair, dark eyes. Ideally long hair and facial hair (although wig and facial hair can be provided if not).

As this idea behind this AV is an accurate reconstruction of the discovery of the cocoa bean so we are looking for an actor with similar facial features and build who can give a realistic performance as Hernan Cortes.

As this is a non-speaking role we are looking for an actor who can express emotion through facial expression and physical gesture.

HOW TO APPLY: In order to be considered for any of the above roles you will need to provide a CV, a colour photo of your face as well as full length picture showing your physique. A show-reel would also be good but isn’t vital.

Extras and Actors will be required to come to London for a costume-fitting prior to filming.
