Tommy Law has seen it all in his time as a detective, old withered and looking forward to retirement he clashes with his new partner Timmy Copper who thinks he knows it all. Law has always been a maverick but has always got the job done and is therefore one of the most respected detectives in the area, he doesn't suffer fools gladly and this is where his initial problems with Copper arise. He doesn't care which University Copper attended as he attended the University of life.
