Film Synopsis

When Simon\'s reclusive behaviour is disrupted by the girl next door, he begins to realise he is not the only one with communication issues.

Simon only wants to be himself but finds he is socially restrained by his Asperger\'s syndrome. But when Maisy starts writing signs to him from the opposite apartment, he can no longer resort to hiding from the outside world. In the end, he plucks up the courage to meet Maisy and realises he is not the only one who struggles to communicate.

Role

Simon is awkward and shy in social situations but it\'s not who he is or his fault. His asperger\'s syndrome makes him feel restricted. Music consequently plays a big role in his life as an avenue to express himself and his feelings. Despite having talent with a guitar, he can\'t seem to nail that perfect melody or translate his passion into a piece that works. Set in routines and constantly seeking solitude, he needs a nudge in the right direction from someone who understands and believes in him. Actor has to be able to play guitar.

Note: As this is a student short film, unfortunately the roles will be unpaid however we have a great crew and the roles of Simon and Maisy will be challenging but rewarding. Food and expenses will be covered and you’ll receive a final copy of the film for your portfolio.

Provisional Shooting date: 6th – 25th (less than a weeks filming)
