We are a an experienced and passionate group of filmmakers from Farnham with considerable experience in a broad range of professional productions. We have high aspirations for the film to be screened around a variety of film festivals around the UK and Europe. The film will be shot over the course of 10 days at the end of October this year, on a boat just off the coast of Exmouth. Auditions will be held in Farnham throughout September and early October. All expenses will be payed for.
This is a unique and ambitious project that promises to be an exciting and expedient experience for all involved.
Synopsis: The film focuses on the emotional and psychological journey of Jacob, a fisherman in his 30's who has been stuck out at sea for some time and has forgotten much of his past before becoming lost at sea. Also stuck out at sea with him is his daughter Grace. He treasures her presence on the boat dearly and makes several attempts throughout the film to fix the engine and get home to wife and mother, Jennifer. When Grace suggests a game of hide and seek to keep themselves occupied, things start to take a strange turn. Grace goes missing and only returns for Jacob to realise that she is just a figment of his imagination and that his daughter is in fact, dead. After coming to terms with this Jacob reflects on his memories, which begin to come back. The sun comes out and Jacob lies on deck and closes his eyes. We reveal that Jacob had, in fact, sabotaged his own engine. In an act of grief and denial, Jacob had created a fantasy for himself, unable to deal with the pain of returning home. He lies there a moment, before opening his eyes and turning his head. He looks at his daughter beside him and smiles.
