Logline:
A nameless man living in an abandoned warehouse goes fishing one night. When he returns, he finds his makeshift home occupied by a group of drunk youths.

Synopsis:
As night falls upon a rural landscape, a flicker of light emerges from the ruin of an abandoned warehouse. Inside, a nameless man lights a fire. This abandoned warehouse is his home for now. His possessions are meagre and his movements crooked from the untold experiences that lead him there. He fishes for his dinner at a nearby stream. Upon his return, he discovers that his “home” has been overtaken by a group of drunken youths. Cautiously, he observes them from the shadows. They investigate the man’s belongings and discover his passport, forcing him to reveal himself and demands its return. The group agrees, but it will come at a cost: they start to humiliate the man to see how far he will go to claim back what is his.

About The Team:
Other People is a production company based in London that seeks to create innovative and rigorous work by challenging conventions and exploring aspects of the human condition with subtlety and diligence. Their most recent feature film “We Are Thankful” premiered in competition at the 71st Locarno Film Festival and went on to garner 8 awards and more than 90 nominations internationally. A Distant Episode will be co-directed by Joshua Magor and Michelle Cho.
