Final Major Project of a talented and experienced
crew of third year television production students from Southampton Solent University.
\'The Marrowing\' is a short black comedy focusing around a retired couple who have turned to murdering their neighbours in order to better their chances at the local vegetable show.
The film will be shot on location in Hampshire at the end of March/beginning of April. Expenses and accommodation included. We intend to send the film to multiple film festivals.
We are auditioning for our two main characters Iris and Graham Briar. Auditions will be held in Southampton 8th March 10am-12pm and London (New Cross) 9th March 11am-4pm. Auditionees will be required to perform a short excerpt from the script (this will be filmed). Please state which audition you would like to attend.
SYNOPSIS
The small rural village of Ivycot, is unremarkable. There is a low crime rate, its roads are tidy and its inhabitants polite. It\'s everything you\'d expect from a quintessential British village, you might even say it\'s the perfect place to live. However, in the lead up to the Village Fete the village has been plagued by a string of mysterious disappearances, linked by one common factor - The Annual Vegetable Growing Competition. Where have these people gone and what has happened to them?
Iris and Graham Briar are an ordinary retired couple. They are truly lovely people and are always courteous and kind. Keen competitors in the vegetable competition they have had enough of second place and have decided to take action. No one would ever suspect that their sweet elderly neighbours could be behind the disappearances. What exactly are they doing with the missing villagers and just how far will they go to claim first prize?
