Grace (Main character)

Wild-child Grace O'Malley (1530-1603), the "Pirate Queen", was an Irish chieftain, pirate, rebel, businesswoman, politician and mother. Having been withheld her portion of her first husband's estates, she sets out on her own, with 200 loyal seafaring men, and returns to her home village to replace her father as chieftain. She is a strong, stubborn and fierce woman who will do anything to safeguard the rights of her family.

Queen Elizabeth I

60 years old in the taster scene, Elizabeth is highly witty and confident at taking on any opponent.

Features: Red-hair complexion, Queen's English accent

Grace's grandfather, Eoin

Eoin is extremely kind, wise and humorous. He acts old and simple towards others to amuse himself.

Grace's first husband, Donal

25+ years old in the taster scene, Donal is very arrogant and ignites quickly. He feels women's position is lower than that of men's.

Sir Richard Bingham, Governor of Connaught

Assigned by Queen Elizabeth I to destroy the O'Malley clan.

Age: 50-60 years old

Captain John Bingham

Sir Richard Bingham's brother. Aids in stripping Grace's family of all their wealth. He also kills Grace's eldest son.

Age: 50-60 years old

AUDITION DATES: Tuesday 8th and Thursday 10th February 2011, Cambridge School of Art

SHOOT DATES: 3 days during the first and second weeks of March, TBC
LOCATIONS: Ely Cathedral, Hampton Court

PLEASE NOTE: Travel expenses will be paid and food will be available during rehearsals and filming. Unfortunately, no salaries will be paid.
