5 Actors required for small theatre production in Reading, 2 females 1 male.
Job ID: 7042
Job Specifics:

Details:
An irresistibly funny and tender play about big dreams and small changes.
Amid the dreaming, the dramas and the dirty dishes, something has to give. But will it be Kath or the kitchen sink?
Things aren't going to plan for one family in Withernsea, Yorkshire. Pieces are falling off Martin's milk float as quickly as he's losing customers and something's up with Kath's kitchen sink. Billy is pinning his hopes of a place at art college on a revealing portrait of Dolly Parton, whilst Sophie's dreams of becoming a ju-jitsu teacher might be disappearing down the plughole.
A great opportunity to gain some theatre experience in a small fringe show by Colour of Fruit Productions, no previous acting experience necessary, just enthusiasm, commitment and a love of theatre.
Play set in Withernsea so applicants must be able to speak with a Yorkshire accent.
Rehearsal schedule will be based around other work commitments so please only apply if you are flexible and available to be in Reading when necessary.
Auditions will be held between 25th August and 13th September, rehearsals to begin mid-September. Short performance run late November, dates to be confirmed.
Location: Reading, United Kingdom
Payment details: no pay
Characters:
Kath:
Females, aged 35 to 60
Mother of two and husband to proud milk-float owner Martin, Kath is a dinner-lady with a lot of heart, who likes to be adventurous in her cooking. She is trying her best to keep her family happy - her husband's livelihood is falling to pieces, her childrens' dreams are crumbling, and her kitchen sink is still broken!
There is no actual nudity required, however there is one scene where Kath strips down to just her underwear. Please do not apply if you would not be comfortable with this.
Martin:
Males, aged 35 to 60
Martin owns a milk float and his business is slowly being stolen by the Tesco down the road. His wife Kath wants him to give it up and try something new, but it's all Martin has ever done, and he's desperate to cling on to it.
Sophie:
Females, aged 18 to 25
Sophie is determined to get her black belt in ju-jitsu, but nothing seems to be going according to plan. She might just be destined to deliver milk.
Billy:
Males, aged 18 to 20
Billy has pinned his hopes on art school, but they think his heartfelt portrait of Dolly Parton is delightfully kitsch, and he begins to wonder if it's where he belongs after all.
Pete:
Males, aged 18 to 25
Pete is a plumber, and a pretty good one, all he needs is a van really, but with his nan being sick and Sophie rebuffing his advances, he's finding it hard to stay positive.
