About Me
Hi My Name is Jamie Swainston I am a Traditional Highland Bagpiper. I have been playing the pipes since they age of 12 and i am aged 45 yrs so i have lots of experience. I have played in full pipe bands in the past but now i concentrate more on solo work.My pipe playing career has taken me abroard on two occasions, the first time was back in 1989 playing with a full pipe band at a folk festival in the Netherlands in the city of Gronigen, the second time was in February of 2002 at another folk festival this time in Agrigento Sicily. I was accompanied by a Pipe Band which i was Pipe Major of at that time. I have also done a little acting on stage whilst studying performing arts at Newcastle college, however i had to quit the course due to family commitments. I am a very outgoing person with a good sense of humour, very professional in what ever i do, be it performing at events or busking on the streets which i do from time to time. I have a little Latin motto that i like to stick by through out life its \\\" Meo Semper\\\" which translated to English means \\\" My best always\\\" no matter what i do be it performing or working i give 100%.
